So-

As it may or may not have become clear to you, I am HORRIBLE AT CONSISTENT UPDATES WOW.

Anyway, a note from my last post: I discovered by accident that there's a location of my internet company like three bus stops from my house that just didn't show up on the map so I'm. Irritated haha.

The big news right now is that my job contract expires tomorrow!!! Wow!!!

My last day of teaching was Sunday the 13th, the conclusion of the school's second summer camp session, and it was pretty cute to watch all the kids show their little choreography to the parents.

The day after that, August 14th, I went into Hong Kong to audition for a talent agency! Unfortunately I don't think much will come of it because after I arrived it became pretty clear that the primary focus of the audition was recruiting young people for training, not so much already-trained performers looking for work.

But that's okay! Basically I'm looking to just get more practice attending auditions since I couldn't commit to ANYTHING for the past year due to my work schedule.

I have two more auditions coming up: one in Thailand on the 20th (to work as a dancer in Disneyland Hong Kong! Why is the audition in Thailand? Beats me), and one on September 1st in New York City (for Universal Studios Japan)! So yes, friends and family, that does mean I'll be back in America next month!

However, I will be returning to China by the end of September because the lease on my apartment here doesn't expire until November 30th, and to be honest, I'm interested in staying in China longer. Let me know if I should come visit you before I head back, though. :)

To close, here's a funny story:

When I first arrived in China, I saw a lot of ads for an English-learning app called Tutor-ABC (or its presumably more expensive version, VIPABC), and the spokesman was this guy with a huge blocky head. Most other ads use super-humanly beautiful movie stars, so I figured this was the company's founder who was really famous for being rich or something.
I thought no more about it, and just kind of dismissed the issue whenever I saw the ads around.

HOWEVER, it was not until nearly a YEAR LATER that I saw this new set of ads...

And realized, oh....wait.....I do know....who he is....

So that's the story of how I walked past Yao Ming's face probably every time I left the house and never knew it.

Peace y'all.
